The Monster Project: An Interactive Art Collaboration

As part of our Festival of the Arts, a group of our lower school students came together for something that quickly became more than a project.

In the ECC art room, Ms. Frontado guided kindergarten students through their shapes unit, where organic lines and forms turned into imaginative monster designs. What started as a simple exploration on paper soon took on new dimension. Partnering with Mrs. Most and her fifth grade classs, those drawings were carefully transformed into three dimensional clay sculptures, each one thoughtfully crafted to reflect its original 2D design.

And just when the process felt complete, it evolved once more. Using AI, students brought their monsters to life, adding movement and personality to the ideas they first imagined. What unfolded was a reflection of creativity in motion, where communication and collaboration connected students across grade levels in a way that felt both meaningful and lasting.
